Masai Mara National Park

Maasai Mara National national park stretches 1,510 sq km (580 sq miles) and raises 1,500-2,170 meters above sea level. It is one of the big game parks in Kenya and most visited by tourists around the world. It is preserved savannah wilderness in southwestern side of Kenya, along Tanzanian border. The animals include lions, cheetahs, elephants, zebras and hippos. Wildebeest traverse its plains during their annual migration. The landscape has grassy plains and rolling hills, and is crossed by the Mara and Talek rivers. The area nearby is dotted with villages (enkangs) of Maasai people.
